Alex

Music: Alex Marczak wrote his first song at 11 years old, and it was rubbish. But a heady mix of Britpop helped him create some vaguely listenable music over the next few years. By age 16 he'd discovered Counting Crows and Radiohead and was learning to emulate their passionate dislike for everything in the world; between 16 and 18 he learned how to record songs; between 18 and 21 he learned how to sing in tune; and finally by age 23 he'd realised that there are more interesting things to write about than being miserable.

Recognisability: Alex supplies most of the vocals for the band, and legend has it he once suffered a horrific accident that left him semi-castrated, enabling him to sing some milk-curdlingly high notes.  He is often seen on stage wearing a hat (for fear that people might laugh at his hair) and playing the guitar as if it were responsible for every injustice in his life.

Special Skills: Alex was the self-proclaimed king of elastic band flicking in his youth, and can go for several days without eating. He can also turn his tongue over, perform several card tricks and knows a surprising amount about birds.

Life Outside of Music: Has very little meaning for Alex, although he does own two lovely pet rats called Amy and Anna. Originally from Wolverhampton, he is a massive Wolverhampton Wanderers fan when they are playing well, and enjoys many classic rock n roll activities such as gardening, carpentry and rearranging the furniture in his bedroom.  Also, Alex isn't actually his first name.
